Meet Monica – Founder of CanAdapt OT, Mum, OT, and Advocate for Neurodivergent Children and Families.

CanAdapt Occupational Therapy is a neurodiversity-affirming practice owned and led by Monica, an experienced Occupational Therapist who has worked across community, school, hospital, and university settings.

We take a family-centred approach, recognising and valuing each person’s unique strengths, preferences, and ways of engaging with the world. Our focus is on supporting meaningful participation and functional skill development in everyday environments—at home, in the community, and beyond.

We are based in Bulli, NSW Australia.

Monica brings over 20 years of experience working alongside children, young people, and their families across Australia, the UK, Bangladesh, and Uganda. Her practice is shaped by a deep respect for diverse lived experiences and cultural contexts.

She values the flexibility and accessibility that telehealth and family- and school-centred approaches can offer, recognising that meaningful support should fit into everyday life. We believe everyone deserves access to high-quality Occupational Therapy services, regardless of where they live.

Monica also brings lived experience of neurodivergence within her own family and community, which informs a compassionate, affirming, and strengths-based approach to her work.

Monica's formal qualifications include

1. Master International Public Health, University of Sydney, Australia.

2. Bachelor Applied Science (Hons) Occupational Therapy, University of Western Sydney, Australia.

3. OCR Diploma Levels 5 & 7 in Assessing and Teaching Learners with Specific Learning Difficulties, UK.
