Monica is a Mum, Occupational therapist and has worked as a specialist assessor, invigilator, tutor and lecturer advocating for children with neurodiversity and disability around the world.
Monica has worked in range of different settings including hospital, school and community settings and was lead therapist of the Special Provision Team and Assessment Team at 3 independent schools in London. These schools catered for children with complex learning and medical needs, Autism, and Specific Learning Differences (Autism, Dyslexia, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia and ADHD/AuDHD).
Monica has lectured and tutored health and educational professionals at various events. Some of which have included the Special Educational Needs Conference, and the Level 5 & 7 OCR Diploma's in Specific Learning Differences in London, UK. She also provides insets and workshops to schools, education and health care professionals.
Whilst working in the UK, Monica also spent many of the school holidays volunteering on projects in Uganda and Bangladesh. Along with other education and health care professionals she developed training programs to up-skill and encourage best practice ways of working with children with complex and specific learning needs.
More recently, she spent a year working in telehealth OT supporting families in remote regions across Australia as she settled back into Aussie life and introduced her own family to the Australian lifestyle.
Monica enjoys being outdoors, a wide variety of sport and playing with her own kids. Fun Fact: I Irish danced at the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney Olympics 2000 and snuck in a summer to work with the NBC supporting the American Athletes to make their events at the London Olympics in 2012 (whilst cheering on the Aussie athletes from the front row with my big Aussie flag).
Monica's formal qualifications include
