CanAdapt Occupational therapy is conducting school readiness occupational therapy screening sessions in pre-school/home. The screening aims to identify those children who might benefit from additional support prior to starting school and to provide strategies and recommendations directly to primary caregivers to help prepare them all for this next big life stage.

Preschool and school age interventions

CanAdapt Occupational therapy works with children and their cheer leaders in everyday environments to develop their personal functional goals. These goals may include skills related to daily living, gross or fine motor coordination, shape and letter formation, handwriting/writing development, visual perception, interoception, regulation, attention and executive function skills. Sessions may be undertaken in person or via zoom.

Walk-and-talk: therapy, caregiver or Occupational Performance Coaching.

This is a lovely option to achieve all the benefits of therapy whilst looking after you. You can chose to walk with your OT along the beautiful Coal Coast or have them on the phone with you as you walk and take in the views, sounds, movement and fresh air that allows for clarity of mind and open progressive discussions.

Don’t worry, following the session your OT will send you a summary so that you can actively go back to your day and implement some of the wonderful light bulb moments you had as you enjoyed your time in nature. This is available to NDIS participants and for private clients.

Insets/Workshops/Training

CanAdapt Occupational therapy can provide bespoke current best practice training sessions to meet your service needs. This may be on specialist topics such as Sensory Processing and regulation, Handwriting development and Touch Typing, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Executive Functioning skills, or how to provide neurodiverse inclusive environments.
